Police: Bellows Falls woman facing charges after falsely raising money for Justin Beebe

BELLOWS FALLS — A 31-year-old Bellows Falls woman is facing fraud charges after police say she falsely collected money for the family of fallen firefighter and local hero, Justin Beebe.

Krystle Holmes, 31, of Bellows Falls, is alleged to have been asking for and collecting cash donations for the family of Justin Beebe, the 26-year-old man who died last month while battling a wildfire in Nevada.

Police say a concerned citizen tipped them off in the case.

She faces seven counts of fraud and one count of providing false information to a police officer and is scheduled to appear in court to answer to the charges in October.

Beebe was a 2008 graduate of Bellows Falls Union High School. He was killed on August 13, 2016 at Great Basin National Park when a tree fell on him while fighting a fire.
