Car vs. moose collision in Brattleboro Saturday morning

BRATTLEBORO — A driver from Lyndonville hit a moose on I-91 in Brattleboro at around 11 a.m. this morning.

According to the report, Eric Sargent, 28, of Lyndonville, was traveling north on Interstate 91 in a Toyota Tundra, when a moose crossed the road.

Sargent could not avoid the moose and struck it, breaking its leg.

Police say the moose got up and continued into the woods.

A game warden responded to track the moose.

The injured moose was located and put down, police say.

Sargent took possession of the deceased moose.
