Hinesburg woman breaks police telephone while being arrested

WATERBURY — A 34-year-old woman from Hinesburg is facing an unlawful mischief charge after throwing a police station telephone against the wall while being processed for suspicion of DUI.

State troopers stationed out of the Middlesex Barracks say at around 10:30 p.m. Sunday night they conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 89 northbound in the town of Waterbury, for an operation violation.

The operator was identified as Amanda J. St. Cyr, 34, of Hinesburg.

Police say St. Cyr’s was taken in for suspicion of DUI because she did not provide a PBT, and was transported to the Middlesex State Police Barracks for processing.

While at the station St. Cyr threw a department telephone against the wall, breaking it.

She was charged with unlawful mischief as a result of her actions.
