Divers locate body of missing teen swimmer in Curtis Pond

CALAIS — The body of an East Calais teenager was recovered this morning in Curtis Pond.

Early Friday morning, at approximately 9:10 a.m., the Vermont State Police SCUBA Team along with Colchester Technical Rescue recovered the body of Seamus Beall, 17 of East Calais, in Curtis Pond following a swimming incident early Thursday evening.

Beall was located in the vicinity where he was last seen. Witnesses report Beall was a good swimmer.

The body has been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for autopsy, to determine the cause and manner of death.

Vermont State Police detectives say they continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident, and ask anyone with information to contact investigators at the Middlesex Barracks at 802-229-9191.
