PUTNEY – A missing 17-year-old student hiker was lost then found in Putney on Wednesday.
According to the report, a 17-year-old was part of a school hike when he ventured off the trail system.
Police say several students walked into the woods at around 8:30 a.m. for a nature lesson. Authorities became alarmed when the boy didn’t return with the others at 11:30 a.m.
Police and the Putney Fire Department responded to the Putney School on Houghton Brook Road at approximately 4 p.m. and set up a command post.
Police say the missing boy followed the voices and sirens and exited the woods unharmed and in good spirits.
