RYEGATE — A 23-year-old man is facing a slew of charges after police say they responded to a report of a 21-year-old female that had been sexually assaulted and left on the side of the road.
Police say Michael Glynn, of Woodsville, New Hampshire, faces charges of kidnapping, aggravated sexual assault, domestic assault, and unlawful mischief.
According to a statement issued by police, their investigation revealed that Glynn picked the female up at her residence in his vehicle and drove to a sand pit located in the Town of South Ryegate, off of US Route 302.
While at the sand pit the victim told police that Glynn sexually assaulted and physically assaulted her while inside the vehicle.
Glynn is alledged to have forcefully removed the victim from the car after the assault and left her beside the roadway to walk.
Glynn was arrested at the Vermont State Police Barracks in St. Johnsbury on Monday, and transported to the St. Johnsbury Correctional Complex for lack of $15,000 bail.
